Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Calendar Hours Tracker (the “extension”) is a Chrome browser extension developed and operated by Hyggetimen ApS for internal use by its team and partners. Contact: kasper@hyggetimen.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy describes what data the extension accesses, how it uses that data, and where the data is stored. It applies only to the Calendar Hours Tracker Chrome extension.

3. Data we access

When you sign in with Google, the extension requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly scope. With your consent, this allows the extension to read:

• The list of calendars in your Google account.
• Events on those calendars within a date range you choose: event title, start and end time, and the calendar the event belongs to.

The extension does not request write access to your calendars and cannot create, modify or delete events.

4. How we use the data

Calendar data is fetched directly from the Google Calendar API to your browser when you click “Calculate Hours”. It is processed locally to:

• Group events by calendar and total their durations.
• Apply a 30-minute deduction per event on calendars you opt into.
• Match calendar names to employee names using a mapping bundled with the extension.
• Optionally generate an Excel (.xlsx) file you can download.

5. Where data is stored

Calendar event data is held only in browser memory while the extension is open and is discarded when the popup closes. The extension uses Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) to persist a small amount of preference data on your device:

• Your last-used keyword filter.
• Which calendars you marked for the 30-minute deduction.

No calendar event content is saved to local storage. No data is transmitted to any server operated by Hyggetimen or any third party other than Google itself.

6. Sharing and third parties

The extension communicates only with Google’s authentication and Calendar API endpoints under googleapis.com, using the OAuth credentials you grant. It does not contain analytics, tracking, advertising SDKs, or any other third-party network calls.

The Excel export feature uses the open-source SheetJS library. The library is bundled inside the extension and runs entirely in your browser; no data is sent over the network as part of the export.

7. Your rights and controls

• You can revoke the extension’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• You can clear locally stored preferences by removing the extension from Chrome.
• You can request deletion of any data Hyggetimen holds about you by emailing kasper@hyggetimen.com. Note: because the extension does not transmit calendar data to us, in practice we hold no calendar data about you to delete.

8. Children

The extension is intended for adult professional use and is not directed at children under 13.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. The “Effective” date above will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the extension or by email where reasonable.
